What is Performance Training?

Why Performance Training

Performance Training pushes an athlete to near performance level during training. We do this to simulate competition in order to condition the mind, body, and soul for the greatest possible performance outcomes. Our training focuses on power, speed, and endurance, both, mentally and physically. Not to mention, perfecting technique and fundamentals by using fatigued repetitions & other muscle memory exercises. A physically fatigued athlete is a mentally fatigued athlete, so we address this by using a variety of different training methods, nutritional protocols, and life style changes. Performance training requires dedication and perseverance because it challenges the athlete mentally and physically every day of training just like any sporting event or competition. Imagine you’re in the final moments of your competition. You feel tired, your legs are weary, and your breathing heavy. It’s all up to you. You’ve got to get it done. No one is going to help you. What do you do? You will win or you will fail, but you can have predictable outcomes if you performance train with Coach Abdullah.

An athlete vs. an athletic person

An athlete is a person who is training for an eventual competition. Whereas an athletic person may be a former athlete or a person who never really commits to a specific sport, but enjoys training and learning new sports and/or exercise techniques. Often times people get the two confused and as a result, they create false expectations. Performance training fills the gap between the false expectations because it allows the athlete and the athletic person to achieve realistic goals as well as reach peak performance.
